This simple sangria recipe calls for Meyer lemon slices. What are Meyer lemons? Meyer lemons were first introduced to North America by Frank Meyer in the early 20th century. They are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin. These golden juicy nuggets are usually available during the winter months into early spring. Can't find Meyer lemons? No worries! Regular lemons will do in a pinch.

INGREDIENTS

  • Blackberries

  • Tangerine wedges

  • Meyer lemon slices

  • White Wine ~ Try Sauvignon Blanc. However, any white wine will work. If you are using sweet wine like Riesling or Moscato, do not add any sweetener.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Simple Syrup or 1 teaspoon super fine sugar

DIRECTIONS

Per glass ~ Muddle 2 blackberries, 1 thin lemon slice & 2 tangerine wedges with simple syrup or sugar. Pour in chilled white wine and serve—for a spritzer, top with club soda or sprite!
